ClearCanvas Image Server Alpha, developed by ClearCanvas Inc., is an early preview of a standards-based DICOM image archive designed for medical imaging workflows. It provides core services to receive, store, index, and deliver imaging studies across modalities and viewers, helping teams evaluate a lightweight, interoperable PACS backbone.
Highlights include DICOM networking support for C-STORE ingestion and C-FIND/C-MOVE/C-GET query/retrieve operations, organized study management at the patient, study, series, and instance levels, and straightforward administration for configuring AE Titles, nodes, and storage settings. The server is built to interoperate with ClearCanvas tools as well as third-party imaging systems, making it suitable for integration testing and workflow prototyping.
As an alpha release, features, performance, and stability are still evolving. ClearCanvas Image Server Alpha is intended for testing and evaluation, not for production or clinical use without appropriate validation and compliance processes.
